Craft: Decorative Pine Cones

Supply List:

3 Paper Plates
Associated Sand Art Sand
Silver Glitter
All Purpose Glue
Cleaned Pine Cones

Step 1: Pour Glue onto one of the plates and roll the pine-cone in the glue.

Step 2: Either poke holes in the top of the sand art container, or add the sand to the glitter container.

Step 3: Sit the glue cover pine cone on a new paper plate, and shake the sand/glitter mixture over the pine cone.

Step 4: Let the Pine Cone dry for 3-5 minutes, then shake off excess sand/glitter mixture onto plate. Use the plate to pour the remaining of the sand/glitter back into the container to do the next one.

I made these with my niece, it was so simple and I use them to decorate the table, with a gingerbread house I decorated with my niece as well. Feel free to comment the blog with photos of your pinecones and what you did with them. I would love to see.

Chemistry

A fellow student in my Principle of Chemistry Class, was discussing his disappoints in the way the class was setup and how our professor was going about teaching the class. In his rambling, there was one that he said that stuck out to me, “Chemistry hasn’t changed over the years, our understanding of it has…” He used that to make a fairly different point than what I am about to make.
God is the same yesterday, today and forever, our understanding of who He is changes, He remains the same.
God created the heavens and the earth, and we have created so many other things and studies to understand all that God has created, such as Chemistry, the way the atoms were in the beginning of the created universe has not changed but our understanding has…

Waiting for class

So i am waiting for the time for speech class, and I began to wonder if I could blog using my phone. The verdict is…It is possible and I am doing right now.

Life has a lot of waiting periods, thankful for creativity which helps me use time wisely.

Roots

Don’t just cut it off, dig it up by the roots.

Rebellion is a nasty thing in life, it can take root in us before we can even begin to see the fruit(sin). And perversion is a sly thing, so part of our everyday lives, we begin not to notice it.

After listening to some sermons online @ Bethany’s Vimeo profile and 220power.com, I have this passion to remove rebellion and perversion from my life, allowing God to cleanse and guide me daily as I die daily to myself.

Some of my Notes:

Romans 6:19 (NLT), “Because of the weakness of your human nature, I am using the illustration of slavery to help you understand all this. Previously, you let yourselves be slaves to impurity and lawlessness, which led ever deeper into sin. Now you must give yourselves to be slaves to righteous living so that you will become holy.”

There are two things that causes you to sin and leads you deeper into sin, and if those two things are not dealt with you will be lead back into sin. You will be in a constant cycle.

These two things are impurity and lawlessness, (reversion and rebellion, the sin tooth).

The first root is the root of perversion; it comes from the outward and works its way within. What was meant to be beautiful can be destroy by pollution.

Perversion is the pollution of the soul, its takes a lot of time and energy to clean it up.

What is the solution to perversion? The answer is deliverance, taking that which was never meant to be there and casting it out.

What is the key to that deliverance? Transparency, secrets is the breeding ground for perversion.

The second root, lawlessness rebellion, you’re born with rebellion inside of you.

Gen. 8:21 (NLT), “And the Lord was pleased with the aroma of the sacrifice and said to himself, “I will never again curse the ground because of the human race, even though everything they think or imagine is bent toward evil from childhood. I will never again destroy all living things.”

Rebellion is in us by default.

You can protect a child from perversion but you can’t from rebellion.

Rebellion is like a tumor inside of you, you need to let it be cut out.

What is the solution to rebellion? The solution is discipleship!

Purple Chair (Rondeau)

In the purple chair, upon pa’s lap /
Within the corner of my room. /
We had adventures off the map /
From the forest to the lagoon. //

Adventures of pirates setting traps, /
And journeys to the moon. /
Saw princesses, in vine-wrapped /
Towers, and witches on brooms, /

Speed-racer (a Sonnet) By Felecia Gonzalez

I am tossed around like someone lost at sea, /
While the captain handles the car, /
Through obstacles of plastics we foresee, /
Our sleek corvette cruiser will take us far, /
The captain’s white knuckles clamp amain the steering wheel,/
I am content in chains by safety restraints, /
Although our opponent is tight on our heel, /
We will not yield to their merciless complaints, /
The captain hits the gas as our light turns red, /
Disaster met the captain’s side of our corvette, /
Our ability to win the exclusive race is dead, /
This is the day we will always regret, /
Smooth in motion sailing on fumes, /
Racing like the fast and furious danger always looms. //
